23-Deoxojessic acid is a natural product isolated from the marine actinomycete Streptomyces griseus. It belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 23-deoxyjonnomycin A-type glycosides and derivatives and is a derivative of jessic acid. 23-Deoxojessic acid has shown promising cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines and has the potential to be developed into a therapeutic agent for the treatment of cancer.
