Description
Sodium methylarsonate, also known as MSMA, is the monosodium salt of methylarsonic acid. It is an odorless, colorless solid that may appear as a colorless to red or green solution. The solid form may float or sink in water, and both the solid and solution mix with water. It is a white solid with very high solubility in water and has a specific gravity of 1.0 for DSMA and 1.4°-1.6 for MSMA solutions at 20°C.
