2243-90-5 Usage
General Description
2,6,8-trimethylquinoline, also known as TMQ or Toluquinone, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C12H9N. It is a heterocyclic aromatic compound that is derived from quinoline and is a yellowish, crystalline solid at room temperature. TMQ is commonly used as an antioxidant in the production of rubber products, particularly tires, to prevent oxidation and degradation caused by exposure to air and sunlight. It is also used as a stabilizer in the production of polyurethane foam and as a reagent in organic synthesis. TMQ has been classified as a Group 2B carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, meaning it is possibly carcinogenic to humans, and exposure should be minimized to reduce potential health risks.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 2243-90-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,2,4 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2243-90:
(6*2)+(5*2)+(4*4)+(3*3)+(2*9)+(1*0)=65
65 % 10 = 5
So 2243-90-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

supporting information, p. 86 - 92 (2019/12/26)
The condensation of anilines and alkenyl ethers has been demonstrated by employing visible-light photoredox catalysis. The resulting method enables the synthesis of substituted 2-alkylquinolines under mild and simple conditions with good substrate scope and high yields.
