9-(2-carboxyethyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole, also known as "N-carboxymethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole", is a chemical compound derived from tetrahydrocarbazole, a heterocyclic compound. It is commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry as a precursor for the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and as a building block in organic chemistry. 9-(2-CARBOXYETHYL)-1,2,3,4-TETRAHYDROCARBAZOLE is also used in the production of dyes and pigments, as well as in the formulation of some specialty chemicals. Its unique structure and properties make it a valuable molecule for a wide range of applications in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 23690-80-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,3,6,9 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 23690-80:
(7*2)+(6*3)+(5*6)+(4*9)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*0)=114
114 % 10 = 4
So 23690-80-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Dependence of fluorescence properties of compounds from psoralen, angelicin, and carbazole series on the character of their terminal substituents
Sibirtsev,Tolmachev,Suslov,Garabadzhiu,Traven'
, p. 881 - 889 (2003)
Absorption, luminescence excitation and emission spectra of nine compounds from 4,8,4′-trimethylpsoralen, 4,4′-dimethylangelicin, and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole series with various terminal substituents were studied in water and 2-propanol. Proceeding from the data obtained in the present and also some previous studies we have formulated the main rules concerning a general mechanism of changes in the fluorescence characteristics of DNA-specific dyes depending on their chemical structure, substrate properties, and measurement medium.
