2503-73-3 Usage
Description
Direct Blue 78 is a water-soluble dye with a blue color, exhibiting good solubility in water at varying temperatures and slightly soluble in alcohol. It is insoluble in other organic solvents and demonstrates color changes when interacting with different chemicals, such as strong sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and strong hydrochloric acid. The dye maintains its color lightness in the presence of copper and iron ions and is classified as Class B by the SDC. It shows excellent neutral white and alkaline white properties.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Direct Blue 78 is used as a dye for cotton or viscose materials in direct dyeing and printing processes. It is also used in combination with disperse dyes for bath dyeing of polyester/cotton blended fabrics.
Used in Paper Industry:
Direct Blue 78 is used as a dye for paper, providing coloration and enhancing the appearance of the paper products.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 2503-73-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,5,0 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2503-73:
(6*2)+(5*5)+(4*0)+(3*3)+(2*7)+(1*3)=63
63 % 10 = 3
So 2503-73-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
