The invention provides an ester compound as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The structure of the ester compound is as follows: in the formula (I), each R0 is the same as or different from each other and is independently selected from C1-4 alkylene; R1, R2 and R3 are respectively and independently selected from C6-8 alkyl and C15-19 alkyl, at least one group is selected from C6-8 alkyl, and at least one group is selected from C15-19 alkyl; and R' is a C1-6 alkyl group. The ester compound can be used as lubricating base oil. The ester compound has a high viscosity index anda low pour point; the viscosity at 40 DEG C is between 40.5 mm 2/s and 45.5 mm 2/s; the viscosity at 100 DEG C is 8.61-9.23 mm 2/s, the viscosity index is about 200, the pour point is less than -45 DEG C, and the total acid value is less than 0.5 mgKOH/g. The normal starting performance at a low temperature and the lubricating performance at a high temperature can be ensured, and the stability ofrelated mechanical working conditions is ensured.
