28704-27-0 Usage
Description
COP-1, also known as Copaxone, is a medication used for the treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. It is an amino acid polymer prepared from the N-carboxyanhydrides of Tyr, Ala, γ-benzylglutamate, and ε,N-trifluoroacetyllysine, followed by deprotection. Structurally, the random polymer simulates myelin basic protein (MBP), which gives it immunomodulating and immunosuppressive activity.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
COP-1 is used as a treatment for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. It exhibits immunomodulating and immunosuppressive activity, specifically targeting myelin basic protein (MBP). The mechanism of action involves binding to MHC class II (I-A/DR) molecules, which results in competition with myelin antigens for T-cell activation and induction of specific suppressor cells of the Th2 type. This antigen-specific interaction reduces the probability of long-term damage to the immune system. Copaxone has been shown to result in a 29% reduction in relapse rate and is most effective in patients with less accumulated neurologic disability.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 28704-27-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,8,7,0 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 28704-27:
(7*2)+(6*8)+(5*7)+(4*0)+(3*4)+(2*2)+(1*7)=120
120 % 10 = 0
So 28704-27-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
