324-42-5 Usage
General Description
2-Fluoro-6-methylnaphthalene is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C11H9F. It is a derivative of naphthalene, and its structure consists of a naphthalene ring with a fluorine atom at the 2 position and a methyl group at the 6 position. 2-FLUORO-6-METHYLNAPHTHALENE is used in organic synthesis, particularly in the production of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and dyes. It is also used as a precursor for the preparation of other fluorinated compounds. 2-Fluoro-6-methylnaphthalene is a flammable liquid and its handling should be done with proper safety measures as it can pose a hazard to health and the environment.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 324-42-5 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 3,2 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 324-42:
(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*4)+(2*4)+(1*2)=45
45 % 10 = 5
So 324-42-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 2485 - 2493 (2007/10/02)
A series of naphthalenyl 3H-1,2,3,5-oxathiadiazole 2-oxides was prepared and tested for antihyperglycemic activity in the db/db mouse, a model for type 2 (non-insulin dependent) diabetes mellitus.Substitution at the 1-,5-, or 8-positions of the naphthalene ring with a halogen was found to be beneficial to antihyperglycemic activity. 4--3H-1,2,3,5-oxathiadiazole 2-oxide (45), one of the most potent compounds in this series, was selected for further pharmacological evaluation.
