356-86-5 Usage
General Description
2,2,3,3,3-Pentafluoropropyl Acrylate is a highly specialized chemical compound belonging to the family of Acrylates. Acrylates are a group of chemicals that polymerize readily to form key plastics and synthetic resins. With a systematic name of 2-propenoic acid and 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropyl ester, this chemical compound is known for its fluoro- functional properties. Often used in the manufacturing sector, it plays a significant role in the production of coating materials, adhesives, and various high-performance polymers due to its unique characteristics like chemical resistance, weatherability, and optical clarity. However, like other Acrylates, this compound could also present health hazards upon skin contact or inhalation due to its highly reactive nature.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 356-86-5 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 3,5 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 356-86:
(5*3)+(4*5)+(3*6)+(2*8)+(1*6)=75
75 % 10 = 5
So 356-86-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for producing polyfluoroalkyl ester of unsaturated carboxylic acid
-
Page/Page column 3, (2008/06/13)
A polyfluoroalkyl ester of unsaturated carboxylic acid is produced in high yield in a more simple reactor and with much more reduction in the waste than the conventional process based on esterification reaction by subjecting a polyfluoroalkanol represented by the following general formula: [in-line-formulae]Rf-R—OH [/in-line-formulae] , where Rf is a polyfluoroalkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms and R is an alkylene group having 1-6 carbon atoms, and an unsaturated carboxylic acid to dehydration reaction in a fluorine-containing solvent in the presence of an acid catalyst and a polymerization inhibitor.
