Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 35851-68-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,5,8,5 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 35851-68:
(7*3)+(6*5)+(5*8)+(4*5)+(3*1)+(2*6)+(1*8)=134
134 % 10 = 4
So 35851-68-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Nickel(II) complexes containing tetradentate ligands formed by the condensation of ketones with benzil monohydrazone in the presence of nickel(II) ions
Kerwin, C. Michael,Melson, Gordon A.
, p. 726 - 729 (1972)
The reaction between some ketones R1R2CO and benzil monohydrazone in the presence of nickel(II) ions has been shown to result in the formation of complexes containing tetradentate ligands in which two benzil monohydrazone residues are linked by a single carbon atom from the ketone (R1 = Me, R2 = Me, Et, n-Pr, n-Bu, or Ph; R1 = Et, R2 = Et). The complexes have been characterized by infrared, visible, and 1H nmr spectroscopy, mass spectral analysis, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The dinegatively charged ligands are coordinated about the nickel(II) ion in a square-planar configuration.
