Description
Direct Orange 4 is a bright orange dye that is moderately soluble in water, producing a light orange color, and slightly soluble in ethanol, resulting in a golden brown shade. It exhibits different colors when treated with strong sulfuric acid (golden brown) and after dilution (orange brown). When the dye solution is mixed with strong hydrochloric acid, it turns into an orange heavy red light brown color with precipitation, while the addition of thick sodium hydroxide solution results in an orange light brown color with precipitation.
