General Description
BIS(2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionato)calcium(II) is a chemical compound that consists of a central calcium ion coordinated with two molecules of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione. It is commonly used as a calcium source in chemical synthesis and as a precursor for the production of calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide. BIS(2,2,6,6-TETRAMETHYL-3,5-HEPTANEDIONATO)CALCIUM(II) is a white to off-white crystalline solid that is soluble in organic solvents but insoluble in water. It is also used in the production of calcium-containing thin films and as a catalyst in organic reactions. Additionally, it has potential applications in the field of bioinorganic chemistry and as a calcium supplement in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 36818-89-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,6,8,1 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 36818-89:
(7*3)+(6*6)+(5*8)+(4*1)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*9)=150
150 % 10 = 0
So 36818-89-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Exhibition of Synergism Effect upon the Sublimation of Rare-Earth Metal and Magnesium Dipivaloylmethanates
Kuz'mina,Soboleva,Martynenko,Malkerova,Alikhanyan
, p. 1360 - 1365 (2008/10/08)
The results of vacuum sublimation, mass spectrometry study, and thermal analysis of mixed-ligand complexes (MLC) of compositions Mg(thd)2(phen) and M(thd)2(phen)2 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba; thd = dipivaloyl-methanate ion; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) are compared with the same characteristics of homoligand complexes (HLC) of composition M(thd)2. Upon relative sublimation of MLC and HLC, the synergetic effect is found to vary from its total absence for the magnesium complexes to the maximal for Sr(thd)2(phen)2 and a decrease for the Ba(thd)2-Ba(thd)2(phen)2 system. The absence of monotonic synergetic behavior within one family of the periodic system is interpreted taking into account the peculiarities of the MLC properties and of the HLC structure, in which the molecules of 1,10-phenanthroline are involved in intermolecular bonds.
