The invention relates to a synthetic method of 2-bromo-5-iodopyridin-3-amine. According to the synthetic method, the technical problem that an effective synthetic method of 2-bromo-5-iodopyridin-3-amine is lacked is mainly solved. The synthetic method comprises the following steps: generating a compound 1 by virtue of 2-amino-3-nitropyridine, sodium periodate and iodine in mixed liquid of water and acetic acid under the catalysis of concentrated sulfuric acid; reacting by virtue of the compound 1, hydrobromic acid, sodium nitrite and cuprous bromide under a diazotization reaction condition, so as to generate a compound 2; and reacting by virtue of the compound 2, ammonium chloride and iron powder in mixed liquid of ethanol and water, so as to reduce nitro into amino and generate a target compound 3, wherein the reaction formula is shown in the description. As an expensive medical intermediate, 2-bromo-5-iodopyridin-3-amine is widely applied in the pharmaceutical industry.
