Stereospecific radical polymerization of substituted benzyl muconates in the solid state under topochemical control
Matsumoto, Akikazu,Tanaka, Toshihiro,Oka, Kunio
, p. 1479 - 1490 (2007/10/03)
We have successfully controlled the stereochemical structure of diene polymers during radical polymerization in the solid state under UV and γ-ray radiation. The polymerization of the substituted benzyl muconates occurred via a crystal lattice controlled reaction mechanism. The polymerization is controlled by not only diisotactic and disyndiotactic, but also meso and racemo structures to afford various kinds of stereoregular polymers. Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart.
Two-step and reversible phase transitions of organic polymer crystals produced by topochemical polymerization
Matsumoto, Akikazu,Nakazawa, Hideyuki
, p. 8538 - 8547 (2007/10/03)
We describe here the novel phase transition of organic polymer crystals that are directly fabricated by the topochemical polymerization of the 4-bromo- and 4-chlorobenzyl esters of (Z,Z)-muconic acid as the 1,3-diene monomers in the crystalline state. The
