Description
Lycorenine is an alkaloid that has been isolated from Lycoris radiata Herb. It crystallizes from Me2CO in rhombic prisms and exhibits a specific optical rotation of [α]20D + 149.3°. This alkaloid is known for its ability to form crystalline salts and derivatives, such as aurichloride, platinichloride, picrate, and monoacetyl derivative. Lycorenine also forms diacetyl compounds, although with some difficulty and under forcing conditions. It behaves as a pseudo-base, yielding an oxime hydrochloride that decomposes at 258°C. Upon catalytic hydrogenation, it produces dihydro-derivative and eventually forms deoxytetrahydrolycorenine. The complete structure of Lycorenine has been determined primarily from its mass spectrum.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Lycorenine is used as an antibacterial agent for its ability to combat bacterial infections. It is extracted from the bulb of Lycoris radiata and has been found to be effective in treating various bacterial-related conditions.
Used in Research and Development:
Due to its unique chemical properties and the ability to form various derivatives, Lycorenine is also used in research and development for the synthesis of new compounds and the study of their potential applications in medicine and other fields.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 477-19-0 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,7 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 477-19:
(5*4)+(4*7)+(3*7)+(2*1)+(1*9)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 477-19-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
