Usage

General Description

4-Methyl-6-chloronicotinic acid, also known as clopyralid, is a selective herbicide used for control of broadleaf weeds, specifically for perennial weeds in lawns and turf, and in field margins. It is especially effective against thistles and clovers. This chemical belongs to the pyridine family and is known for its low toxicity in mammals, but can have significant adverse effects on non-target plants and can persist in compost materials. Additionally, it is soluble in water and can be absorbed through the plant’s foliage and roots. It acts by mimicking plant hormones, causing abnormal growth patterns that lead to the plant's death.
