5291-31-6 Usage

General Description

2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-ol, also known as tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane or Tris, is a basic chemical compound that is commonly used in biochemistry and molecular biology. It is a white, crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and is known for its ability to maintain a stable pH in various biological and chemical processes. Tris is often used as a buffering agent in biological and biochemical experiments, as well as in the formulation of pharmaceuticals and personal care products. It is also used as a stabilizer and emulsifier in the production of food and beverages. Additionally, Tris has also been utilized in the synthesis of certain drugs and as a component in the preparation of electrophoresis gels for DNA and protein analysis. However, it is important to handle Tris with care as it can be hazardous to health if not properly managed and is known to cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory system.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5291-31-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,2,9 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5291-31:
(6*5)+(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*1)+(2*3)+(1*1)=86
86 % 10 = 6
So 5291-31-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Structure-activity studies of quinuclidinone analogs as anti-proliferative agents in lung cancer cell lines

Malki, Ahmed,Pulipaka, Aravinda B.,Evans, Susan C.,Bergmeier, Stephen C.

, p. 1156 - 1159 (2006)

We have synthesized and tested novel quinuclidinone analogs to assay the effects on H1299 lung cancer cell lines alone or with γ-radiation. We have found two series of quinuclidinone analogs that act as anti-cancer agents. Of these, four interesting analo
