The invention relates to the field of herbicide, in particular to a preparation method of herbicide-mefluidide. The preparation method includes following steps: preparing 5-amino-2, 4-dimethyl trifluoromethyl aminophenyl sulfone, adding 100g of 2, 4-dimethyl metaphenylene diamine and 270g of N, N-dimethyl formamide into a four-opening flask of 500mL while stirring, feeding 112.5g of trifluoromethyl sulfuryl fluoride at 20 DEG C, and stirring for reaction for 2h; rising temperature for reaction at 90 DEG C for 10h, cooling to 30 DEG C after reaction is finished, adding 14.5% sodium hydroxide solution, heating mixed liquid for distillation, recycling N, N-dimethyl formamide, finishing distillation when distillate is neutral, using 500mL of dichloromethane to wash an aqueous phase; using diluted hydrochloric acid for acidification and sucking filtration to remove impurities, using an extraction agent to adjust pH of filtrate to neutral to obtain solid precipitate, performing sucking filtration to obtain an intermediate-5-amino-2, 4-dimethyl trifluoromethyl aminophenyl sulfone, and drying to obtain 180g of the herbicide. The preparation method is simple in process, safe and stable in reaction and mild in reaction condition, production cost is lowered greatly, and production efficiency is improved.
