548462-13-1 Usage
Description
Bis(b-trimethylsilylethanesulfonyl)imide, also known as TMSN(SO2Et)2, is a chemical compound that features a central nitrogen atom bonded to two b-trimethylsilylethanesulfonyl groups. It is a versatile reagent in organic synthesis, known for its ability to protect amines and facilitate various chemical reactions.
Uses
Used in Organic Synthesis:
Bis(b-trimethylsilylethanesulfonyl)imide is used as a reagent for the preparation of protected amines. It serves as a protecting group that temporarily masks the reactivity of amine groups during chemical reactions, allowing for selective reactions to occur at other sites on a molecule. This is particularly useful in the synthesis of complex organic molecules where precise control over reaction sites is necessary.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
In the pharmaceutical industry, Bis(b-trimethylsilylethanesulfonyl)imide is utilized for the synthesis of complex drug molecules. Its ability to protect amines is crucial in the development of new drugs, as it allows chemists to carry out multi-step syntheses without unwanted side reactions that could occur if the amine groups were unprotected.
Used in Research and Development:
Bis(b-trimethylsilylethanesulfonyl)imide is also used in academic and industrial research settings for the development of new synthetic methods and the exploration of novel chemical reactions. Its unique properties make it a valuable tool for chemists working on the frontiers of organic chemistry.
Preparation
Bis(β-trimethylsilylethanesulfonyl)imide is easily obtained via a two-step
sequence starting from the reaction of commercially available
methanesulfonyl chloride and ammonium chloride in the presence
of sodium hydroxide (eq 1).The product bis(methanesulfonimide)
(1) is then treated with equiv ofLiHMDSat?78°C
to give a trianion. Subsequent alkylation with equiv of commercially
available (iodomethyl)trimethylsilane andwarming to room
temperature affords the desired sulfonimide in good yield (eq 1).
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 548462-13-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 5,4,8,4,6 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 548462-13:
(8*5)+(7*4)+(6*8)+(5*4)+(4*6)+(3*2)+(2*1)+(1*3)=171
171 % 10 = 1
So 548462-13-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
