Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 55047-62-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,5,0,4 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 55047-62:
(7*5)+(6*5)+(5*0)+(4*4)+(3*7)+(2*6)+(1*2)=116
116 % 10 = 6
So 55047-62-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

An access to α, β-unsaturated ketones via dual cooperative catalysis

Syamala, Lakshmi V.R. Babu,Khopade, Tushar M.,Warghude, Prakash K.,Bhat, Ramakrishna G.

supporting information, p. 88 - 91 (2018/12/05)

A dual cooperative organocatalytic approach for the synthesis of α, β-unsaturated ketones is described. This one pot transformation is realized via a domino Knoevenagel-Michael-retro Michael reaction sequence. Various aliphatic ketones reacted smoothly with aromatic as well as aliphatic aldehydes in presence catalytic amount of Meldrum's acid and bifunctional amine. The highlights of this protocol are the easy availability of catalysts, high selectivity, and functional group tolerance. The reaction proved to highly E-selective with no side products emanating from self-condensation, unlike the base-mediated reactions.

Helical-Peptide-Catalyzed Enantioselective Michael Addition Reactions and Their Mechanistic Insights

Ueda, Atsushi,Umeno, Tomohiro,Doi, Mitsunobu,Akagawa, Kengo,Kudo, Kazuaki,Tanaka, Masakazu

, p. 6343 - 6356 (2016/08/16)

Helical peptide foldamer catalyzed Michael addition reactions of nitroalkane or dialkyl malonate to α,β-unsaturated ketones are reported along with the mechanistic considerations of the enantio-induction. A wide variety of α,β-unsaturated ketones, including β-aryl, β-alkyl enones, and cyclic enones, were found to be catalyzed by the helical peptide to give Michael adducts with high enantioselectivities (up to 99%). On the basis of X-ray crystallographic analysis and depsipeptide study, the amide protons, N(2)-H and N(3)-H, at the N terminus in the α-helical peptide catalyst were crucial for activating Michael donors, while the N-terminal primary amine activated Michael acceptors through the formation of iminium ion intermediates.

Organoselenium-catalyzed baeyer-villiger oxidation of α,β-unsaturated ketones by hydrogen peroxide to access vinyl esters

Zhang, Xu,Ye, Jianqing,Yu, Lei,Shi, Xinkang,Zhang, Ming,Xu, Qing,Lautens, Mark

supporting information, p. 955 - 960 (2015/03/30)

By carefully screening the organoselenium pre-catalysts and optimizing the reaction conditions, simple dibenzyl diselenide was found to be the best pre-catalyst for Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of (E)-α,β-unsaturated ketones with the green oxidant hydrogen peroxide at room temperature. The organoselenium catalyst used in this reaction could be recycled and reused several times. This new method was suitable not only for methyl unsaturated ketones, but also for alkyl and aryl unsaturated ketones. Therefore, it provided a direct, mild, practical, highly functional group-tolerant process for the chemoselective preparation of the versatile (E)-vinyl esters from the readily available (E)-α,β-unsaturated ketones. A possible mechanism was also proposed to rationalize the activity of the organoselenium catalyst in the presence of hydrogen peroxide in this Baeyer-Villiger oxidation reaction.
