Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5589-97-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,5,8 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5589-97:
(6*5)+(5*5)+(4*8)+(3*9)+(2*9)+(1*7)=139
139 % 10 = 9
So 5589-97-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Cyanoethylation of pyrazoles under conditions of phase-transfer catalysis and hydrogenation of the cyanoethylation products

Cyanoethylation of pyrazoles with acrylonitrile was studied under conditions of phase-transfer catalysis. The ease of the process depends on the acidity of pyrazoles. Cyanoethylpyrazoles can be converted into the corresponding aminopropylpyrazoles via reduction of the cyano group. The reduction with lithium tetrahydridoaluminate is accompanied by β-elimination of the cyanoethyl group. Pleiades Publishing, Inc., 2006.
