A New Reaction of α-Chloro-α-chlorosulfenyl Ketones: Facile Syntheses of 3,3-Dichloro- and 3-Chloro-Chroman-4-ones and Thiochroman-4-ones
Gabbutt, Christopher D.,Hepworth, John D.,Heron, B. Mark
, p. 5245 - 5254 (2007/10/02)
3-Chloro-3-chlorosulfenylchroman-4-ones are efficiently obtained from chroman-4-ones by treatment with thionyl chloride.Direct oxidation affords 3,3-dichlorochroman-4-ones, whilst conversion to the sulfenamides prior to oxidation provides a facile route to 3-chlorochroman-4-ones.
1,3-Oxathiole-2-thiones from the Reaction of Carbon Disulfide with Zwitterionic Iodonium Compounds
Papadopoulou, Maria,Spyroudis, Spyros,Varvoglis, Anastasios
, p. 1509 - 1511 (2007/10/02)
We have synthesized 1,3-oxathiole-2-thiones from the reaction of zwitterionic iodonium compounds with carbon disulfide. The reaction is shown to be photochemical and possible pathways are discussed.
REACTIONS OF N,N'-DISUBSTITUTED SULFUR DIIMIDES WITH CH ACIDS. II. REACTION OF N,N'-BIS(PHENYLSULFONYL)SULFUR DIIMIDE WITH 5,5-DIMETHYL-1,3-DIOXOCYCLOHEXANE
Levchenko, E. S.,Gaidamaka, S. N.,Kalinin, V. N.,Budnik, L. V.
, p. 871 - 875 (2007/10/02)
The reaction of N,N'-bis(phenylsulfonyl)sulfur diimide with 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxocyclohexane in a ratio of 1:2 leads to the formation of 4-oxo-6,6-dimethyltetrahydro-1,3-benzoxathiole-2-spiro-4',4'-dimethylcyclohexane-2',6'-dione.
