624-43-1 Usage
General Description
1-Mononitroglycerin, also known as nitroglycerin or glyceryl trinitrate, is a highly explosive and potent vasodilator medication used to treat angina, heart failure, and high blood pressure. It is a clear, colorless, slightly viscous liquid that is typically administered sublingually or through a patch applied to the skin. When ingested, it is rapidly converted to nitric oxide, which causes smooth muscle relaxation and vasodilation, ultimately reducing the workload on the heart and improving blood flow to the coronary arteries. However, because of its explosive nature, it must be handled and stored with extreme caution. Additionally, 1-mononitroglycerin has potential side effects including headaches, dizziness, and hypotension, and should not be used in conjunction with certain other medications, such as phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 624-43-1 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 6,2 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 624-43:
(5*6)+(4*2)+(3*4)+(2*4)+(1*3)=61
61 % 10 = 1
So 624-43-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

NITRATION OF ALCOHOLS ON SILICA GEL WITH NITRIC ACID
Pranov, E. A.,Piterkin, R. N.
, p. 1522 - 1523 (2007/10/03)
A possibility of glycerol nitration by nitric acid adsorbed on silica gel has been experimentally investigated. In contrast to classic nitration conditions, this reaction yields glycerol dinitrate as the main product along with the mononitrate.
