Purohit, Shriram S.,Kamlesh, Ghori,Kumar, Devendra
, p. 177 - 182 (2019/01/21)
This research article presents the synthesis and antimicrobial activity of a new series of 2-phenyl-3-[2-(5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) ethyl]-1H-indoles 5(a-f). The structures of the compounds were confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral data. All the derivatives have shown moderate to excellent antimicrobial activities. 5a has shown remarkable Minimum Inhibitory Concentration especially against Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger when compared with the standard drugs.

The ZipA-FtsZ protein-protein interaction is a potential target for antibacterial therapy. The design and parallel synthesis of a combinatorial library of small molecules, which target the FtsZ binding area on ZipA are described. Compounds were demonstrat
