6408-63-5 Usage
Description
ACID VIOLET 34 is a purple dye that is soluble in various solvents such as ethanol, chloroform, o-chlorophenol, pyridine, and toluene. It has slight solubility in acetone, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride, but is insoluble in stout special solvent. When it comes into contact with strong sulfuric acid, it turns brown and upon dilution, it forms a red-purple precipitate.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
ACID VIOLET 34 is used as a dye for coloring textiles. It is known for its light fastness, soaping fastness, perspiration fastness, oxygen bleaching fastness, and fastness to seawater. According to ISO and AATCC standards, it has a rating of 6 for light fastness, 3 for soaping and perspiration fastness, 3-4 for oxygen bleaching fastness, and 3 for fastness to seawater.
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
ACID VIOLET 34 can be used as a staining agent in analytical chemistry for the detection and identification of certain substances. Its color change properties in the presence of strong sulfuric acid make it a useful tool for qualitative analysis.
Used in Microbiology:
ACID VIOLET 34 is used as a staining agent in microbiology for the visualization of microorganisms. Its ability to bind to certain cellular components allows for the differentiation of specific types of microorganisms.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
ACID VIOLET 34 can be used in the pharmaceutical industry for the staining of biological samples, such as cells and tissues, in research and diagnostic applications. Its color properties and solubility in various solvents make it a versatile tool for staining and visualization purposes.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6408-63-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,4,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6408-63:
(6*6)+(5*4)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*6)+(1*3)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 6408-63-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
