The reaction kinetics of the following sulfides: chloromethyl-n-butyl, chloromethyl-n-pentyl, chloromethyl-n-hexyl and chloromethyl-n-octyl with pyridine in dimethylformamide, cyclohexanone, acetophenone, ethyl acetate, chloroform and cyclohexane have been studied.It has been found that the investigated reactions are the reactions of the first order in relation to sulfide.Further, the rate constants of reactions, activation energies and thermodynamic activation parameters have also been determined.
