The first metal coordination complex of a radical ligand based on the 1,2,3-dithiazolyl heterocycle is reported. 6,7-Dimethyl-1,4-dioxo-naphtho[2,3-d] [1,2,3]dithiazolyl acts as a bridging ligand in the volatile trinuclear Mn(hfac)2-Rad-Mn(hfac)2-Rad-Mn(hfac)2 complex (hfac = 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoroacetylacetonato-). The Mn(ii) and radical ligand spins are coupled anti-ferromagnetically (AF) resulting in an ST = 13/2 spin ground state.

Compounds of formula (I): STR1 and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy, or any adjacent two of R1 to R4 taken together represent an alkylene group containing from 3 to 5 carbon atoms or a 1,4-buta-1,3-dienylene group are disclosed together with a method for their preparation. The compounds are useful as anti-allergic agents. With the exception of 4,9-dioxo-1H-naphtho-[2,3-d]-triazole, and its salts, all compounds of formula (I) are novel.
