Occurrence
A simple pyrrolizidine alkaloid, petasinine occurs in the stalks of Petasites japonicus Maxim. It forms an amorphous white powder having no definite melting point. The base is dextrorotatory with a specific rotation of [α]D + 16° (c 2.5, EtOH). The phenylurethane has been prepared as colourless needles with m.p. 168-17loC and [α]D +14° (c 2.5, EtOH). Hydrolysis furnishes angelic acid and petasinecine, m.p. 132-134°C, [α]D -20° (c 0.25, EtOH).
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 70474-33-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,0,4,7 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 70474-33:
(7*7)+(6*0)+(5*4)+(4*7)+(3*4)+(2*3)+(1*3)=118
118 % 10 = 8
So 70474-33-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
