726-62-5 Usage
Structure
Six chlorine atoms and three sulfur atoms in a ring structure, with six oxygen atoms attached to the sulfur atoms.
Uses
Commonly used as a flame retardant, a chemical intermediate in the production of other chemicals, and in the manufacturing of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals.
Handling and storage
Must be handled and stored with care due to its potential toxicity and harmful environmental effects.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 726-62-5 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 7,2 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 726-62:
(5*7)+(4*2)+(3*6)+(2*6)+(1*2)=75
75 % 10 = 5
So 726-62-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of Perhalogenated 1,3,5-Trithiane 1,1,3,3,5,5-Hexaoxides and their Reaction with Bases
Arens, Guillermo,Sundermeyer, Wolfgang,Pritzkow, Hans
, p. 3631 - 3638 (2007/10/02)
A new synthesis of 1,3,5-trithiane 1,1,3,3,5,5-hexaoxide (2) and an improved synthesis of 2,2,4,4,6,6-hexachloro-1,3,5-trithiane hexaoxide (4) are reported.Reactions of the perhalo-1,3,5-trithiane hexaoxides 4 and 5 with bases were investigated. The new tetrahalo-1,3-dithiole tetraoxides 3 and 6 could be obtained as well as the ionic ring systems 7a-e and 8a, b, which were in part identified by X-ray structure analysis.
