Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 7335-67-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,3,3 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7335-67:
(6*7)+(5*3)+(4*3)+(3*5)+(2*6)+(1*7)=103
103 % 10 = 3
So 7335-67-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Reaction of hydrazine hydrate with oxalic acid: Synthesis and crystal structure of dihydrazinium oxalate

Selvakumar, Rajendran,Premkumar, Thathan,Manivannan, Vadivelu,Saravanan, Kaliannan,Govindarajan, Subbiah

, p. 52 - 55 (2014/05/20)

The reaction of oxalic acid with hydrazine hydrate (in appropriate mole ratio) forms the dihydrazinium oxalate under specific experimental condition. The title compound is a molecular salt containing two discrete hydrazinium cations and an oxalate anion. The oxalate anion is perfectly planar and there is a crystallographic centre of symmetry in the middle of the C-C bond. The C-O bond distances are almost equal indicating the presence of resonance in the oxalate ion. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-H···Oand N-H···Nhydrogen bonds. The oxalate ions are linked together end to end through hydrogen bonds (via N 2H5+ ions) and run parallel to the [101] direction. It is interesting to note that each oxalate group in the structure is surrounded by six hydrazinium ions through hydrogen bonding. Similarly, each hydrazinium ion is surrounded by three oxalate and one hydrazinium ion.
