Novel routes to fluorinated ethers containing a fluorosulfonyl group
Storzer, Werner,DesMarteau, Darryl D.
, p. 59 - 69 (1992)
The chloroxy compounds ClOCF2CFXSO2F (X=F, CF3) have been reacted with several simple olefins to give ethers. In the case of unsymmetrical olefins the reaction mainly follows an electrophilic cis addition with the positive polarized chlorine adding in a Markovnikov manner. One example of the conversion of a sulfonyl fluoride to its corresponding acid is given. The latter gives the respective sulfonyl chloride with phosphorus pentachloride.
