General Description
Pentaerythritol octahydrogen tetraphosphate is a phosphoric acid derivative and belongs to the class of chemical compounds known as organophosphates. It is composed of four phosphate groups and one pentaerythritol group. It has chemical formula C5H12O16P4 and typically appears as colorless crystals. pentaerythritol octahydrogen tetraphosphate showcases its importance in several industrial applications. For instance, it is widely used in the production of synthetic resins, varnishes, and other chemical substances. However, it is important to handle this compound with care as, like other phosphoric acid derivatives, it may have toxicity potential.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7440-78-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,4,4 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7440-78:
(6*7)+(5*4)+(4*4)+(3*0)+(2*7)+(1*8)=100
100 % 10 = 0
So 7440-78-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

REACTION OF PENTAERYTHRITOL WITH DIETHYL PHOSPHOROCHLORIDATE PENTAERYTHRITOL BIS-, TRIS-, AND TETRAKIS(DIHYDROGEN PHOSPHATES)
Dhawan, Balram,Redmore, Derek
, p. 215 - 220 (2007/10/02)
Reaction of pentaerythritol 1 with 1, 2 or 3 equivalents of diethyl phosporochloridate 2 yielded pentaerythritol tris(diethyl phosphate) 5.Treatment of pentaerythritol with 4 or more equivalents of 2 gave pentaerythritol tetrakis(diethyl phosphate) 6.Transesterification of 5 and 6 with trimethylsilyl chloride and sodium iodide in acetonitrile followed by treatment with water gave pentaerythritol tris(dihydrogen phosphate) 7 and pentaerythritol tetrakis(dihydrogen phosphate) 8 respectively.Pentaerythritol bis(dihydrogen phosphate) 9 was prepared by the hydrolysis of 3,9-dichloro 2,4,8,10-tetraoxa-3,9-diphosphaspiroundecane 3,9-dioxide 10.The compounds 7,8 and 9 were isolated as anilinium salts and characterized by 1H, 31P NMR spectra.
