Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 75175-06-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,5,1,7 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 75175-06:
(7*7)+(6*5)+(5*1)+(4*7)+(3*5)+(2*0)+(1*6)=133
133 % 10 = 3
So 75175-06-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Paragraph 0023, (2019/03/29)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel benzenediol derivative compound exhibiting excellent whitening activity by strong inhibition of melanogenesis, and to provide a composition for skin whitening containing the same.SOLUTION: A benzenediol derivative for skin whitening represented by a general formula (I) is provided, where A is derived from an aromatic compound, C1 and C2 are derived from a cyclic compound in which two hydroxy groups are each bound at either position 1 and position 3 (meta-position) or position 1 and position 4 (para-position), R1 and R2 are linear or branched saturated or unsaturated acyl groups, and R3, R4, R5 and R6 are each at least one substituent independently selected from a group consisting of a hydrogen, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a hydroxy group, a vinyl group, a nitrile group, a carboxyaldehyde group and an aldehyde group.

Ytterbium triflate catalysed Friedel-Crafts reaction using carboxylic acids as acylating reagents under solvent-free conditions

Jin, Can,Li, Jie,Su, Weike

experimental part, p. 607 - 611 (2011/02/26)

The Friedel-Crafts acylation of 1-naphthol and phenol derivatives with carboxylic acids were investigated by using a catalytic amount of metal-triflate, in particular Yb(OTf)3, under solvent-free conditions. Both aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids reacted easily to afford the corresponding hydroxyaryl ketones.
