1,4-Benzenedicarbonitrile, 2,5-diamino- is a chemical compound also known as 2,5-Diaminoterephthalonitrile. It is a white to light tan crystalline powder with a faint odor and is insoluble in water. 1,4-Benzenedicarbonitrile, 2,5-diamino- is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of dyes, pigments, pharmaceuticals, and organic compounds. It is also used in the manufacturing of high-performance polymers and resins. 1,4-Benzenedicarbonitrile, 2,5-diamino- is also known to be an irritant to the eyes, skin, and respiratory system, and precautions should be taken when handling and using this chemical.
