7729-23-9 Usage
General Description
Hirsutine is an alkaloid compound found in Uncaria species of plants, particularly Uncaria rhynchophylla. It has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine for its neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties. Hirsutine has been the subject of scientific research for its potential effects on the central nervous system, including its ability to protect against neuronal damage and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Additionally, hirsutine has been studied for its potential anti-cancer and anti-diabetic effects, as well as its ability to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Overall, hirsutine shows promising potential for a wide range of therapeutic applications and may be a valuable compound in pharmacological research.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7729-23-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,7,2 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7729-23:
(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*2)+(3*9)+(2*2)+(1*3)=119
119 % 10 = 9
So 7729-23-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Total synthesis of (±)-hirsutine: Application of phosphine-catalyzed imine-allene [4 + 2] annulation
Villa, Reymundo A.,Xu, Qihai,Kwon, Ohyun
, p. 4634 - 4637 (2012/10/30)
The total synthesis of the indole alkaloid hirsutine has been achieved, with a key step being the application of our phosphine-catalyzed [4 + 2] annulation of an imine with ethyl α-methylallenoate. From commercially available indole-2-carboxaldehyde, the target was synthesized in 14 steps and 6.7% overall yield.
