Some 3-(N-Tos- or N-Pht-aminoacyl)amino-2-imino-2,3-dihydrothiazoloquinoxalines and the corresponding 2-aminothiazoloquinoxalines and 2-hydrazino-4(H)-1,3,4-thiadiazinoquinoxaline derivatives (IV-XXXVI) have been synthesized and screened for their biological activities.Hydrazinolysis of the N-phthalyl derivatives in ethanol affords the unprotected amino acid derivatives (XXXVII-XLII). 3-(N-Tos-di- and tripeptide)amino-2-imino-2,3-dihydrothiazolo-quinoxaline, 2-(N-Tos-di- and tripeptide)aminothiazoloquinoxaline and 2-(N-Tos-di- and tripeptide)hydrazino-4(H)-1,3,4-thiadiazino-quinoxaline derivatives (XLIII-LIV) have been synthesized via the azide method.Amongst the compounds synthesized, VII, IX, XVI, XX, XXI, XXVIII, XXIX, XXXII, XXXIX, XLII, XLV-XLVII, XLIX and LI-LIV are found to be active against a number of microorganisms.
