79551-86-3 Usage

Description

20-HETE, or 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid, is a cytochrome P450 (CYP450) metabolite derived from arachidonic acid. It consists of arachidonic acid bearing a hydroxy substituent at position 20 and may play an autacoid role in cerebral and renal vasculature.

Uses

Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
20-HETE is used as a bioactive compound for its potential role in the regulation of cerebral and renal vasculature. Its involvement in these processes makes it a promising candidate for the development of therapeutic agents targeting various vascular-related conditions.
Used in Research and Development:
20-HETE is used as a research tool for studying the mechanisms and pathways related to cerebral and renal vasculature. Understanding its role in these processes can contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and the development of novel treatments for related diseases.
Used in Drug Delivery Systems:
Similar to gallotannin, 20-HETE can also be employed in drug delivery systems to enhance its applications and efficacy in targeting specific conditions. Various organic and metallic nanoparticles can be used as carriers for 20-HETE delivery, aiming to improve its delivery, bioavailability, and therapeutic outcomes in the context of cerebral and renal vasculature.

Biochem/physiol Actions

20-Hydroxy-(5Z,8Z,11Z,14Z)-eicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) is an arachidonic acid metabolite via cytochrome P4504A, that is an activator of the Ras/MAP (microtubule-associated protein) pathway. 20-HETE acid is a predominant arachidonic acid present in the kidney. It is involved in the regulation of sodium, potassium and chloride transport in the renal tubules. 20-HETE is often excreted in urine in the form of glucuronide conjugate and sometimes as free acids. Increased urine 20-HETE is observed during pregnancy in rats.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 79551-86-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,9,5,5 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 79551-86:
(7*7)+(6*9)+(5*5)+(4*5)+(3*1)+(2*8)+(1*6)=173
173 % 10 = 3
So 79551-86-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
