Tertiary 1,1-gem-dialkylperfluoroalkylamines were prepared by treatment of perfluoroalkylcarboxamides with alkylcerium chlorides, generated from cerium chloride and alkyllithium or alkyl Grignard reagents. The products were easily isolated as the hydrochl
