PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for hair cosmetics which can suppress stiffness at the time of applying to the hair, and has good shampoo properties after that, and to provide hair cosmetics using this. SOLUTION: The invention provides a composition for hair cosmetics containing a polymer compound (A) containing a repeating unit derived from a sulfobetaine monomer represented by the following formula (I) or (II). Where, R1 represents a methyl group, an ethyl group, a n-propyl group, or an i-propyl group; a plurality of R1 may be the same or different respectively; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; n represents an integer of 2-4; and L represents a straight chain or branched chain alkylene group with a carbon number 3 or 4.
