Description
Metaclazepam is a benzodiazepine derivative, which is a class of psychoactive drugs that possess anxiolytic, sedative, and hypnotic properties. It is structurally related to other benzodiazepines and is known for its potential therapeutic effects in treating various conditions.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Metaclazepam is used as an antidepressant for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. It works by enhancing the effect of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, leading to a reduction in anxiety and depressive symptoms.
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
Metaclazepam is used as a target compound in the analysis of pharmaceutical substances. A QTrap liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry system is employed to identify and quantify 7-Bromo-5-(2-chlorophenyl)-2,3-dihydro-2-(methoxymethyl)-1-methyl-1H-1,4-benzodiazepine, which is a derivative of metaclazepam. This analytical method helps in the detection and quantification of metaclazepam and its related compounds in various samples, ensuring the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 84031-17-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,4,0,3 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 84031-17:
(7*8)+(6*4)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*1)+(2*1)+(1*7)=104
104 % 10 = 4
So 84031-17-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

1,4-Benzodiazepine and 1,5-benzodiazocines. VII. Synthesis and biological activity
Milkowski,Liepman,Zeugner,et al.
, p. 345 - 358 (2007/10/02)
Synthesis of a new class of 2,3,-dihydro-1H-1,4-benzodiazepines and of the corresponding 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,5-benzodiazocines is described. The biological activity of the compounds is evaluated in vivo by measuring their inhibition of pentetrazole induced seizures and in vitro by determining their affinity for the benzodiazepine receptor. Comparison of both tests reveals differences between activity in vivo and in vitro which are discussed.
