15-DEOXY-DELTA12,14-PROSTAGLANDIN D2, also known as 15-deoxy-Δ12,14-PGD2, is a metabolite of PGD2. It acts as an agonist of the PGD2 receptor 2 (DP2), binding to DP2 with a Ki of 50 nM for the mouse receptor expressed in HEK293 cell membranes. 15-DEOXY-DELTA12,14-PROSTAGLANDIN D2 is known for its ability to activate eosinophils with an EC50 of 8 nM and stimulate the recruitment of steroid receptor coactivator-1 (SRC-1) to peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ). At a concentration of 5 μM, it induces PPARγ-mediated transcription in a reporter assay. Additionally, 15-deoxy-Δ12,14-PGD2 exhibits cytotoxicity to L1210 murine leukemia cells with an IC50 of 0.3 μg/ml and inhibits ADP-induced platelet aggregation, albeit less potently than PGD2, with an IC50 of 320 ng/ml.
