Usage

General Description

4-IODO-2-PYRIDONE, also known as 4-IP, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C5H4IN2O. It is a derivative of pyridone and is commonly used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. 4-IP is also utilized as a building block in the production of organic compounds, such as dyes and pigments. It is a white to pale yellow crystalline solid with a melting point of 160-162°C and is soluble in organic solvents. 4-IODO-2-PYRIDONE is considered to be a hazardous chemical and should be handled with care due to its potential for causing irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract.
