Description

BRASS is an alloy composed of copper and zinc, known for its various properties depending on the proportion of copper and zinc. It is created by adding lump zinc to molten copper, which is then poured into castings or billets for further processing. BRASS exhibits different characteristics based on its composition, such as red-gold and malleable when containing 75 to 85% copper, yellow and malleable with 60 to 70% copper, and white, brittle, and not malleable with 50% or less copper. The alloy has good mechanical properties, combining strength with ductility, and offers very good corrosion resistance, although its electrical conductivity is lower than that of copper.
