9028-36-8 Usage

Description

EC 1.1.1.28, also known as D-lactate dehydrogenase, is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of D-lactate to pyruvate using NAD+ as a cofactor. It plays a crucial role in the metabolism of D-lactate, which is an important intermediate in various metabolic pathways.
Used in Food Industry:
EC 1.1.1.28 is used as a catalyst for the conversion of NADH and H+ to NAD+ with diaphorase, which is coupled with the conversion of the non-fluorescent resazurin to the highly fluorescent substance resorufin. This process is utilized to measure the content of D-lactate in food products, ensuring the quality and safety of the final product.

Biochem/physiol Actions

D-lactic dehydrogenase catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate into D-lactate, with oxidation of NADH to NAD+. D-lactic dehydrogenase can also catalyze the reverse reaction, conversion of D-lactate into pyruvate with reduction of NAD+ to NADH.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 9028-36-8 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,2 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9028-36:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*2)+(3*8)+(2*3)+(1*6)=98
98 % 10 = 8
So 9028-36-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
