Tertiary allenyl and homopropargyl alcohols were obtained, respectively, in high selectivities, from the same starting materials, simply by changing the reaction conditions. The substrate scope was wide. Mechanistic studies suggest that the reactions are controlled under kinetic and thermodynamic conditions.
