Au(I)-Catalyzed 6-endo-dig Cyclizations of Aromatic 1,5-Enynes to 2-(Naphthalen-2-yl)anilines Leading to Divergent Syntheses of Benzo[α]carbazole, Benzo[c,h]cinnoline and Dibenzo[i]phenanthridine Derivatives

A gold(I)-catalyzed 6-endo-dig cyclization of aromatic 1,5-enynes was developed to synthesize 2-(naphthalen-2-yl)anilines. The functional group tolerance of this cyclization was examined systematically and a possible mechanism was proposed. The derivatization of 2-(naphthalen-2-yl)aniline was carried out to facile access to benzo[α]carbazole, benzo[c,h]cinnoline and dibenzo[i]phenanthridine derivatives in a divergent way.

Triarylboranes have gained substantial attention as catalysts for C-C bond forming reactions due to their remarkable catalytic activities. Herein, we report B(C6F5)3catalysed cyclopropenation of a wide variety of arylacetylenes using donor-acceptor diazoesters. A mild reaction protocol has been developed for the synthesis of functionalised cyclopropenes (33 examples) in good to excellent yields.
Gold(I)-Catalyzed Oxidative Cascade Cyclization of 1,4-Diyn-3-ones for the Construction of Tropone-Fused Furan Scaffolds

supporting information, p. 4401 - 4405 (2018/08/09)
Gold(I)-catalyzed cascade cyclization of 1,4-diyn-3-ones with a pyridine N-oxide enabled direct construction of a benzo[6,7]cyclohepta[1,2-b]furan scaffold with the formation of four bonds. This reaction would proceed through oxidative cyclization, alkynyl migration, and 5-endo-dig type cyclization. Synthesis of benzotropone-fused naphtho[1,2-b]furans through a two-step sequence, including epoxidation and In(OTf)3-catalyzed intramolecular carbon-carbon bond formation, is also presented.
