A series of three- and four-coordinate perchlorate complexes of copper(I), silver(I), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) of the general compositions: ML2ClO4 (M = Cu, Ag; L = Cy3As; M = Ag; L = Nap2EtAs); M(Cy3As)2(ClO4)2 (M = Zn, Cd), ML3ClO4 (M = Cu, Ag; L = Ph2EtAs, Ph2PrnAs, o-tolyl3P; M = Ag; L = Nap2MeAs); and ML3(ClO4)2 (M = Zn, Cd; L = Ph2MeAs, Ph2EtAs, Ph2PrnAs) have been prepared and characterised by IR and PMR spectroscopy and conductivity measurements.IR spectral data suggest coordination of perchlorate in most of these complexes.The stereochemistry of the complexes depends on the size of the arsine ligands.
