General Description
Karavilagenin A is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. Karavilagenin A is identified as a pentacyclic triterpene that is mainly derived from plants. It exhibits a range of biological and pharmacological properties, including cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral activities. Karavilagenin A is specifically known for its outstanding cytotoxic activity towards different human cancer cell lines, making it a potential candidate for cancer therapeutics. Despite its profound biological activities, its detailed mechanism of action and potential therapeutic applications require further scientific research and investigation.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 912329-03-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 9,1,2,3,2 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 912329-03:
(8*9)+(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*3)=144
144 % 10 = 4
So 912329-03-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Two new cucurbitane-type triterpenes, karavilagenins D and E, and six new cucurbitane-type triterpene glycosides, karavilosides V1, VII, VIII, IX, X, and XI, were isolated from the fruit of Momordica charantia L. (Cucurbitaceae) cultivated in Sri Lanka. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence.
