A number of derivatives of 4H-triazolobenzoxazine and 4H-triazolobenzothiazine have been synthesised and screened for their antiinflammatory, CNS and CVS activities.Representative compounds have also been evaluated for their antimicrobial and anthelmintic activities.Several compounds in this series are found to possess significant antiinflammatory activity against carrageenin-induced rat paw oedema, compound 11 being the most active member of this series showing 44.35 percent inhibition at 200 mg/kg (p. o.) dose.In addition, compound 8 shows promising CNS depressant activity while a few others exhibit moderate antifungal and antitubercular activities.
