95393-42-3 Usage

Description

1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 4-methoxy-2-methyl-, oxime, (E)is a chemical compound that is widely recognized for its application as a pesticide and insecticide in the agricultural industry. As an oxime derivative of 4-methoxy-2-methyl-1-naphthalenone, this compound plays a crucial role in controlling a broad spectrum of insects and pests that can damage various crops. The (E)designation indicates the specific geometric arrangement of the atoms within the molecule, which influences its chemical properties and effectiveness. It is essential to exercise caution when handling this compound due to its moderate level of toxicity to humans. The use and regulation of 1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 4-methoxy-2-methyl-, oxime, (E)differ across regions and countries, reflecting concerns about its potential environmental and health impacts.

Uses

Used in Agricultural Industry:
1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 4-methoxy-2-methyl-, oxime, (E)is used as a pesticide and insecticide for controlling a wide range of insects and pests that can cause significant damage to various crops. Its application helps protect agricultural yields and ensures the production of healthy and high-quality crops.
1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 4-methoxy-2-methyl-, oxime, (E)-'s effectiveness in controlling pests is attributed to its ability to target and disrupt the nervous systems of insects, leading to their paralysis and eventual death. This action helps minimize the impact of pests on crop growth and quality, thereby contributing to increased agricultural productivity and food security.
However, it is important to note that the use of 1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 4-methoxy-2-methyl-, oxime, (E)in agriculture must be carefully managed to minimize potential risks to human health and the environment. This includes adhering to proper handling and application guidelines, as well as considering alternative pest control methods and integrated pest management strategies to reduce reliance on chemical pesticides.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 95393-42-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,5,3,9 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 95393-42:
(7*9)+(6*5)+(5*3)+(4*9)+(3*3)+(2*4)+(1*2)=163
163 % 10 = 3
So 95393-42-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

REDUCTION OF NITRONATE ADDUCTS FROM RMgX AND 1-METHOXY-4-NITRO-NAPHTHALENE TO OXIMES OR AMINES BY TRIVALENT PHOSPHORUS REAGENTS

Bartoli, G.,Bosco, M.,Cantagalli, G.,Dalpozzo, R.

, p. 3437 - 3442 (2007/10/02)

The reduction of nitronate adducts from 1-methoxy-4-nitronaphthalene and Grignard reagents (CH3MgX, PhCH2CH2MgX, i-C3H7MgX, c-C6H11MgX and t-C4H9MgX) with hexamethyl phosphorous triamide and phosphorous trichloride is reported. With the former reagent the reaction is chemio and stereoselective and only the E-oxime is recovered being the E-2-alkyl-4-methoxy-1(2H)naphthalenone oximes and the E-2-alkyl-2,3-dihydro-1,4-naphthoquinone-1-oximes obtained after quenching with NH4Cl and HCl respectively.Oxime stereochemistry is assigned by LIS values caused by Eu(dpm)3 on (13)C signals of 2-methyl-4-methoxy-1-(2H)naphthalenone oxime and 2-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1,4-naphthoquinone-1-oxime.Complete reduction to amines is obtained with phosphorous trichloride.
